NTDC and Islamabad Electric supply company (IESCO) has advertised for the posts of Junior Engineers/Assistant managers. These posts are advertised after the lift of the ban on recruitment in DESCOs.This post is about the nature of these jobs, job duties and responsibilities of JE/SDOs and preparation techniques for NTS and IESCO.
Nature of JE/AM in IESCO and NTDC:
IESCO is recruiting on the lumpsum package which can be approximately 1.5 lacs per month with a fixed annual increment. These are purely temporary posts and will not be regularised at any stage (as mentioned in the advertisement.

NTDC AM/JE job is secure and it will be permanent after serving a couple of years. It offers a handsome salary and perks.
Cons of JE in IESCO:
- Have to handle high voltage equipment and grids which can be fatal if not operated with proper safety protocols
- Stressful job
- Can be posted anywhere within the country.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of JE/SDOs In IESCO and NTDC:
Job duties of JE in IESCO:
- Continuous supply of electric power in areas under its jurisdiction.
- Maintenance and operation of power system
Job duties of JE/AM in NTDC:
- To operate/maintain/plan grids stations of 220 KV and above voltage
- To operate maintain/operate/plan 220 KV and above voltage transmission lines.
- Operation of National power control center Islamabad(NPCC). and much more
Test Pattern of NTS for NTDC and CTSP for IESCO:
NTS will conduct a test of NTDC for posts of AM/Junior Engineers 2022. NTS has also previously conducted tests for the same posts.NTS focuses on books on electrical engineering of Handa, V.k Mehta and B.L Theraja. IESCO test will be conducted by CTSP. It is for the first time CTSP is conducting such type of test so no one can predict much better about the test.
